These terms and conditions govern the provision of building inspection and reporting services by Golden Bay Building Reports ("we", "us", "our") to the client ("you"). By engaging our services you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Scope of Inspection

Our inspections are non-invasive visual assessments of the readily accessible areas of a property at the time of inspection. We do not dismantle, move furniture or belongings, or carry out any destructive testing. Areas that are concealed, inaccessible or unsafe to access are excluded from the report.

2. Reports

Reports reflect the condition of the property only at the date and time of inspection and are prepared for the sole use of the named client. Reports must not be relied upon by any third party without our prior written consent.

3. Limitations

We do not provide guarantees or warranties regarding future performance of the property or its components. Our inspection is not a compliance, code or council inspection and does not certify that the property complies with the Building Act or any regulation.

4. Fees & Payment

Fees are as quoted prior to the inspection and are payable on or before delivery of the report unless otherwise agreed in writing. Reports may be withheld until payment is received.

5. Cancellation

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations made with less notice may incur a fee to cover costs already incurred.

6. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising from any inspection or report is limited to the fee paid for that service. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where it applies.

7. Privacy

We collect and hold personal information only to provide our services and will handle it in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020. We will not share your information with third parties except as required to deliver our services or by law.
